Disconnected Handover

Here the mobile has lost contact with its current base-station and initiates connection to a new base-station.

The mobile uses meta-signalling to establish the signaling connections

It then registers itself with the base-station using its name.

If the mobile is not known to the base-station, the base-station contacts the DLS and the DLS either allocates a new FSP for the mobile or returns the current FSP.

The Base then initiates the virtual path handover to the new base-station and handover

is completed.
