Introduction

This version is a minor update from 3.0.2 (3 Oct 2000). If you are upgrading from a version before 3.0.0, please also read the 3.0.0 release notes .

Changes since 3.0.2

  1. Bug fixes. The list of bugs fixed since 3.0.2 can be found by following the links at http://www.uk.research.att.com/omniORB/omniORBbug.html

  2. Better error messages from omniNames and omniMapper if they cannot start for some reason.

  3. Support for KAI C++ 4.0 on HPUX 11.00 and Linux glibc2.1.

  4. Shared runtime version number change

    On Windows NT/9x, the omniORB runtime DLLs for this version are:

      libomniORB303_rt.dll
  libomniORB303_rt.lib
  libomniDynamic303_rt.dll
  libomniDynamic303_rt.lib
    Make sure you update your Visual Studio to pick up the right library.

    On IBM AIX, the name is unchanged, i.e.

       libomniORB30.a
   libomniDynamic30.a

    On various unixes, the name is

        libomniORB3.so ---> libomniORB3.so.0 --> libomniORB3.so.0.3
