omniORB 2.7.0

Description

A CORBA::Object_ptr cannot be inserted into a value of type Any. In 2.7.0 this usually causes the application to crash. In previous versions this caused a compilation error.

Extraction of an object reference using CORBA::Any::to_object fails unless the reference was inserted as a CORBA::Object_ptr.

Action

This will be fixed in the next release. Please contact us if you urgently need a fix.

Note

This report has been updated. The previous version incorrectly stated that extraction from an Any should narrow or widen an object reference to any compatible interface. This is not the case.
