Networking and communications have consistently been the main thrust of the laboratory's activities. They are the foundation of most of the research projects at ORL.

Early networking research was based on slotted ring technologies. | ||

Recent effort has gone into constructing a fabric of ATM switches. | ||

Our interest in ATM extends to the area of Radio ATM. | ||

piconet is our low-power, short-range radio networking system. | ||

Our sister company, ATM Ltd. is developing ATM commercially. |
